Leonel Merchán es multi-instrumentista, productor musical, pedagogo, creador de música para medios y gestor cultural. Como solista y a través de su proyecto Phonoclórica ha buscado una mirada propia hacia las músicas afrocolombianas y afrolatinas, a partir de las diferentes corrientes de las músicas electrónicas del mundo. Su trayectoria como artista es de más de 15 años y se ha presentado en las salas y festivales más importantes del país, así como en relevantes escenarios del mundo en calidad de intérprete de las músicas colombianas.
