Libreto: Anónimo, basado en ‘El sueño de una noche de verano’ de William Shakespeare
Compuesta en 1962 por Henry Purcell, y con un libreto anónimo basado en ‘El sueño de una noche de verano’, de Shakespeare, esta ópera barroca estuvo oculta durante siglos, hasta su redescubrimiento en el siglo XX. En esta presentación la fundación francesa Les Arts Florissans, que ha trabajado por fomentar la música y la cultura del Barroco, realiza un montaje semiescenificado en donde la danza, la lírica y la música funcionan juntas para rescatar esta obra icónica de la música europea.
Bajo la dirección de William Christie, esta producción tendrá como solistas a los jóvenes cantantes ganadores de Le Jardin des Voix, la academia de formación musical de Les Arts Florissants. Participarán bailarines de la Compagnie Käfig. La coreografía y dirección escénica está a cargo de Mourad Merzouki, una de las mayores figuras de la escena Hip-Hop desde principios de los años 90.
Esta presentación se realiza en el marco del Festival Internacional de Música Sacra de Bogotá.
