Creado en 1977, el Ballet Contemporáneo del Teatro San Martin es considerado como la primera compañía oficial de Argentina dedicada a la danza moderna. En este programa se presentan tres piezas icónicas que plantean un recorrido por el tango, la danza contemporánea y el folclor del sur del continente: el ‘Bolero’ de Ravel en una coreografía de Ana María Stekelman, el solo de danza ‘Ahí viene el rey’, con la música de ‘Canto de octubre’ de Astor Piazzolla y coreografía de Ana Itelman, y ‘Estaciones porteñas’, una coreografía creada en 1997 por Mauricio Wainrot para conmemorar el 90 aniversario del nacimiento de Piazzolla.
