Un concepto. Dos coreógrafos. Dos países. Dos capítulos. Ocho bailarines. Miradas que se encuentran para dar cuerpo a maneras distintas de interpretar la temática abordada en las que se evidencian puntos en común, pero también divergencias que complejizan y enriquecen la puesta en escena.
La Compañía de Danza del Teatro Mayor es la compañía de danza contemporánea residente del Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo y el primer cuerpo artístico estable del Teatro. La agrupación nació en 2019 después de cuatro años de desarrollo del programa Alma en Movimiento, un proyecto destinado a la profesionalización de jóvenes bailarines en el país.
La Compañía ha participado en el Festival Danza en la Ciudad, la Bienal de Danza de Cali, el Festival Internacional de Piano de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, la Muestra Laboratorio de Creación Coreográfica de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad Javeriana y el Encuentro Distrital Ballet del Teatro Mayor. Su repertorio incluye las obras ‘300 millas’, ‘Lilith: el despertar’ e ‘Incluso la noche misma está aquí’, dirigidas por Sarah Storer; ‘Retorno’, dirigida por el coreógrafo colombiano Yovanny Martinez (Cortocinesis), y el videodanza ‘Ímpeto’, en colaboración con Monarca Producciones y Nicolas García Ruiz.
